Constipation and Acne Relief: Smoothie
Recipes
Enjoy a natural smoothie that attacks acne by freeing up your
colon. This not only improves your skin, it zings up your energy.
The basic smoothie is a liquid to which you can add your choice of
natural ingredients.
My personal favourite is 40% rice dream, 40% almond milk, and 20%
apple juice. Sometimes I might just have rice dream on its own –
it has a delicious creamy taste.
Other times I will mix 75% almond milk with 25% fresh apple juice.

Have fun blending and mixing to your taste, all these juices help
eliminate constipation.
Below is a recipe for Sesame Milk.
This delicious recipe comes
from renowned nutritionist Bernard Jensen’s book, called ‘Blending
Magic’ "I believe that sesame seed is one of our best. It is a wonderful
drink for gaining weight and for lubricating the intestinal tract.
Its nutritional value is beyond compare, as it is high in protein
and minerals. This is the seed that is used so much as a basic
food in Arabia and East India."
Blend for 1- 1 1/2 minutes to make smooth,
·2 cups of distilled water
·1/4 cup of Sesame Seed
·2 tablespoons Soy Milk Powder
The slimmer’s version is to replace the soy milk power and
distilled water, with a cup each of water and low fat rice dream.
Also, do not give children soy products as they have estrogen
mimicking properties.
I cut up bananas and freeze them for smoothies, in case I run out
of fresh bananas. They give a thicker, more satisfying texture to
the smoothie. They are also high in a number of minerals,
especially potassium and although they are not high in fiber they
work well with fiber fruits in preventing constipation. For the
weight conscious, use before they are fully ripe and have brown
spots.
Now, I select a fruit that will be the main ingredient, preferably
organic and unpeeled for maximum fiber and flavor. Strawberries in
season are delicious.
Choose from fruits that are in season.
·Avocado
·Cantaloupe, all melon
Apples, mango, papaya, peach. pear
·Pineapple, apricots, apples
·All types of berries - blueberries, raspberries, strawberries
·Fresh or dried figs
·Dried prunes, sultanas or raisins.
Nutritional suggestions to add even more fiber, minerals, oil and
vitamins. Add no more than three to retain your original flavour.
·Almond powder (great with orange or pineapple)
·Beet Juice powder
·Black strap molasses, no more than a level teaspoonful
·Capra mineral whey
·Fig Juice syrup (go easy, can be very sweet)
·Flaxseed or flax seed oil
·Honey
·Ice-cubes
Lecithin granules
·Maple syrup
Powder vitamin C
·Rice or oat bran
·Rice syrup
Sesame seeds
·Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds
·Wheat germ
Have fun making your smoothie. Once you create the base, choose
any natural ingredients to help clear your acne by relieving
constipation. Enjoy your extra energy and zest.
Start your day off with a smoothie for acne problems. This cleans
up the colon, preventing constipation – one of the contributing
factors in acne and skin problems in general.
Always add linseed/flax seed oil to all your smoothies for lovely
smooth skin. Lecithin granules helps to breakdown the flax oil,
making it more digestible. The two go together. Lecithin granules
do not have taste, so one can be generous with it. Linseed/flax
seeds can be ground in the blender. Add ice cubes to taste.
Here are some great tasting recipes. Toss the ingredients into a
blender. Drink first thing in the morning to feel and look better.
I’ll begin with my own personal favourite.
